Configuring Parallels Workstation under 64bit Platform in Linux

64bit processor architecture is experimentally supported by Parallels Workstation in its Linux version only. Configure Parallels Workstation in the following way:

1. Perform an ordinary installation in Linux until running Parallels-config command. After you issue this command and read license agreement configure utility displays the following message:

   Can not configure! Read "/usr/lib/INSTALL" and follow instructions written there. Configuration log is available here: /usr/lib/Parallels/com.log.<log number>.error.

   Also you can check config.log

2. Go to /usr/lib/Parallels/ directory where configuration log is stored, open the log file and locate the string beginning with "Checking 64bit platform:..." If the whole string looks as

   Checking 64bit platform:... configure: error: 64bit platform is not supported

   you may proceed with configuring.

3. Go to /usr/lib/Parallels/ directory and run the configuration script:

   ./configure --enable-64bit=yes

4. Perform the following command

   make clean all

   to compile necessary Parallels modules.

5. If the previous command is executed successfully, delete .Not_configured file .
6. Start driver by issuing command

   Autostart/DriversStart

   If it is executed successfully you may start the Parallels Workstation.

Note that we do not guarantee that the described step sequence will be performed successfully on your particular computer.
