Windows 95/98/ME Video Driver Installation
Before you start installing Parallels video driver:
- Make sure that the Virtual Machine configuration includes CD/DVD-ROM drive and it is enabled. See CD/DVD-ROM Options.
- Start your guest operating system and log in.
- Connect the CD image with tools,
vmtools.iso, to CD/DVD-ROM drive of the Virtual Machine:
Continue with the steps for your guest operating system.
Windows 95 Video Driver Installation
To install video driver in Window 95:
- Open the Windows Control Panel. To do this, click the Start system menu, select the Settings and then Control Panel.
- Double click on the Display icon to open Display Properties window.
- In the Display Properties window select the Settings tab. Then click Change Display Type button.
- In the Change Display Type window click the Change button in the Adapter type box.
- In the Select Device window click the Have Disk button.
- In the Install From Disk in the Copy manufacturer's file from: field type the following path: "
<CD/DV-ROM drive>:\Drivers\Video\Win9x" and click OK. - In the Select Device window select Parallels Video Adapter and click OK.
- In Change Display Type window click Close, then in the Display Properties window click Apply.
- Restart the Virtual Machine if wizard asks you to do this for the new settings to take effect.
Windows 98/ME Video Driver Installation
To install video driver in Window 98/ME:
- Open Windows Control Panel. To do this, click the Start system menu, select the Settings and then Control Panel.
- Double click on the Display icon to open Display Properties window.
- In the Display Properties window select Settings tab. Then click the Advanced button.
- In the Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) Properties window select Adapter tab and click Change button on it.
- In the Update Device Driver Wizard do the following:
- in Windows 98: click the Next button;
- in Windows ME: select the Specify the location of the driver option and click the Next button.
- In the second wizard screen select second option, Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want, and click Next.
- In the third wizard screen click Have disk button. Install From Disk window is opened, in the Copy manufacturer's file from: field type the following path: "
<CD/DV-ROM drive>:\Drivers\Video\Win9x" and click OK. - In the Select Device window select Parallels Video Adapter and click OK.
- In the Update Device Driver Wizard click Next button. After wizard performs copying files, click Finish button in its window. Then click Close in the Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) Properties window and in the Display Properties window.
- Restart the Virtual Machine if wizard asks you to do this for the new settings to take effect.
