Pausing Virtual Machine

When Virtual Machine is paused, the guest OS is stopped and the Virtual Machine process is removed from the CPU processes list. Guest operating system execution can be continued at any time.

Pausing guest OS is recommended if you want to leave the Virtual Machine for a short period of time. If you want to leave it for long and especially if you need to restart your primary OS, use suspending of the VM. See the Suspending Virtual Machine.

To pause a Virtual Machine:

When Virtual Machine is in pause mode its console is darkened.
