GTimeX2 CITY DATABASE - Overview

This is the heart of GTimeX2. This is where you select the cities that you want to display from a list of nearly 8000 cities included in the Master Database of GTimeX2. You can also add your own cities to the Personal Database if they are not included in the Master Database. You can modify settings for each city like the name of the city, country, GMT offset, daylight savings, city code.
You can also use the FIND utility to find/search for cities. You can also set ALARM / REMINDER for each of the displayed cities





Invoking the CITY DATABASE

To invoke CITY DATABASE select GTimeX2 Cities option from the DISPLAY BAR menu. When you invoke the CITY DATABASE, it will wait for a few seconds and display a RED PROGRESS BAR. This shows that it is loading up a list of nearly 8000 cities into the Master Database.




Sections of CITY DATABASE


The CITY DATABASE can be divided into three major sections:

1. Master Database
2. Personal City Editor
3. Personal Database

Master Database

This section displays nearly 8000 cities from around the world. You can sort these cities by City Name, Country Name, and City Code by clicking on the TITLE TABS of the list



Buttons in Master Database

There are three buttons in the Master Database Res, Find, and Add.

Res :
This button Reloads/Refreshes/Resets the Master Database list. This is usually helpful after You perform a Find
Find :
This button will open FIND CITY, where you can search for cities by city name, country name, and city code
Add : This button will add the selected cities from Master Database to Personal Database


Personal City Editor

You can use the Personal City Editor to edit / modify /change the details of a particular city in you Personal Database. Remember you cannot change the city details of a city in Master Database.
You can also add new cities to your Personal Database from the editor.

The changes you make in the Editor are directly reflected in the DISPLAY BAR


Personal Database

--The cities that you add from the Master Database or any new city that you add from Personal City Editor are displayed in the Personal Database. You can again sort these cities by clicking on the TITLE TABS of the list. The sorting will directly affect what you see in the DISPLAY BAR.
--You can use the UP and DOWN ARROWS in the Personal Database to change the order of the cities.
--On the Lower-Right hand side of the Personal Database you will see the total number of cities that are currently displayed in the DISPLAY BAR
--There are three buttons Help, Rem, and Done in Personal Database

Rem : Has three sub-buttons All, Inv, and Sel

---All :
Removes all the citites from the Personla Database
---Inv : Removes un-selected citties from the Personal Database
---Sel : Removes the selected cities from the Personal Database

Done : Saves the changes you have made
