NET-TIME

You can calibrate your system / computer time with time servers located around the world for accurate time in your geographical location using NET-TIME feature of GTimeX2. You need an active network connection to internet to utilise this feature i.e live modem connection, network gateway access to internet

A list of time servers is provided with GTimeX2, but you can use any other time server if you have its IP Address or resolved domain name
 We suggest you use IP address instead of resolved domain names

1. To set the NET-TIME open PREFERENCES
2. Click on NET-TIME button
3. Select from one of the pre-assigned IP address in the time server drop-down list, alternatively you may use your own time server address
4. Click on CALIBRATE button
5. The NET-TIME dialog box will show a message that GTimeX2 is trying to connect to the server
6. This may take a few seconds depending on the network speeds i.e modem connection speed, LAN speed etc.
7. If the connection is made successfully to the time server GTimeX2 will calibrate your system time with net time
8. If there is a response from the time server GTimeX2 will display the amount of time in seconds that has been calibrated
9. If there is no response from the time server, a message in the NET-TIME dialog box will indicate so

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you are behind firewall the connection to time server may fail. This is due to the fact that GTimeX2 uses Port 13 to connect to time servers, and your network may have this port blocked. Please contact your system / network administrator for further information regarding this issue. If you are using GTimeX2 on a personal computer with firewall installed, please make changes to your firewall software to allow GTimeX2 to connect to internet


Auto-Calibrate at Start-up
1. If you check Auto Calibrate at Start-up option then GTimeX2 will try to connect to internet everytime you start GTimeX2
2. Uncheck this option if you do not want this facility
3. Make sure you have live connection to internet to utilise this feature
