E-mailing A Stickum

 

You may send a stickum via e-mail. Note that only the text portion of the stickum is sent. Please be sure to read the system requirements for e-mailing stickums.

Requirements for E-mailing Stickums

To e-mail a stickum requires the following:
1. The computer that Stickums is running on must be connected to a TCP/IP based network;
2. Networking under the MS Windows "Control Panel" must be properly configured;
3. You must have access to an SMTP server.


Accessing the E-mail Stickum Dialog Window

From the Desktop

There are two ways to access the E-mail stickum dialog window of a desktop stickum:
1. If the stickum toolbar is visible, click on the "letter" icon (Figure 1);
2. Click on the Stickum icon in the titlebar and a menu will appear. Select "Actions -> E-mail" (Figure 2).

From the NoteStack

There are two ways to access the E-mail stickum dialog window of a NoteStack stickum:
1. Click on the "letter" icon on the NoteStack toolbar (Figure 3);
2. Click on the Stickum icon in the titlebar and a menu will appear. Select "Actions -> E-mail" (Figure 4).

Working with the E-mail Stickum Dialog Window

The E-mail stickum window is shown in Figure 5. The stickum title (if given) will be in the "Subject:" box, and the text in the text window of the stickum will be in the "Body:" textbox of the E-mail window. Type in the recipient's e-mail address or nickname in the "To:" text box. Previous entries (up to 10) can be accessed by the drop down arrow on the text box. Separate multiple addresses with commas. Choosing "* View Address Book *" will bring up the Stickums "Address Book" window where aliases may be created for frequently used e-mail addresses.

After the recipient's information is entered in the "To:" text box, click "Send." A progress bar will pop-up. Press "Cancel" to halt the send command. If the message was sent successfully, the "Status" bar will read "Message sent." Press "Cancel" to exit.
