The Choose Project screen allows you to choose among three high-level options regarding where and how to store the files that COM-Gen 2000^TM generates for you. The screenshot below illustrates this. Details can be found below the graphic.

You can choose among three high-level options in the Choose Project screen. These are outlined below:

Add Files to Currently Loaded Project - As the name of this option implies, choosing it will add the generated files to a currently loaded VB project. Since it is possible to have more than one project open within an instance of VB (in a group, for example), if you choose this option you must also pick the name of the project from the combo box at the right of the option button. Note: Choosing this option causes COM-Gen 2000^TM to add the generated files to a currently loaded project, but does not store them to disk. Once the generated files are added to the loaded project, you can use VB as you normally would to save the newly generated files as well as the modified project.

Add Files to New Project - Choosing this option causes COM-Gen 2000^TM to create a new project file containing all of your generated files. The project and its generated files will be stored in the folder you choose by clicking the Choose Folder button for that option. (You can also type the path manually into the corresponding text box if you prefer, or if you want COM-Gen 2000^TM to create a new folder.) If you choose this option, you must also specify the type of project you wish COM-Gen 2000^TM to create for you (Standard EXE, ActiveX EXE, or ActiveX DLL), as well as the name for the new project.

Add Files to Existing Project - Choosing this option allows you to direct COM-Gen 2000^TM to add the generated files to an existing (not currently opened) project on your hard disk. If you choose this option, you must also choose the project to which you wish to add your new files, as well as the folder in which to store these files. (It is not necessary for the storage location to be the project's default directory.)
