===================================
2.0 TROUBLESHOOTING / COMPATIBILITY
===================================

2.1 Direct X

If you need the latest version of Direct X, you can download it for free at
http://www.microsoft.com/directx.

2.2 Screen Color Depth

3D SurfBlocks requires you to be running in 16 bit color or better. It
may not function in Windowed mode properly in 256 colors. If you
are running in 256 colors, try to switch to full screen mode.

In addition, the game may run slowly in windowed mode in 32 bit
color. If this occurs, switch to full-screen mode, or change
your color depth to 16 bits.

2.3 Bug Reporting

We've tried our best to make 3D SurfBlocks bug-free, but if you
should come across a bug in 3D SurfBlocks, please report it to

support@repaintit.com

================
3.0 INSTRUCTIONS
================

3.1 AIM OF THE GAME

The game requires groups of three or more identically
coloured adjacent blocks to be cleared making the blocks
above fall down collapsing the rows above.
A certain number of rows have to be cleared to continue
on to the next level. New blocks are constantly being
added from the bottom row at varying speed, which goes
up as you get to higher levels.
Once a column reaches the top, the game is over.
There are also special blocks with bombs, which will
either clear blocks of the same colour or the whole
area that surround a black bomb.

3.2 CONTROLS

Use Left/Right Arrows to Shift to the Left/Right Block,
Up/Down Arrow to Shift to the Up/Down Block.
Pressing Space Bar will eliminate a cluster of blocks.

You can also use NumPad-4 or Home to Rotate Surface Left,
NumPad-6 or End to Rotate Surface Right

3.3 HINTS

You can enable/disable Hint by clicking the Hint button
on Options Screen.

3.4 OPTIONS

You can enable/disable sound effects and music separately
by clicking the respective button.

You can also toggle between full-screen and windowed mode, depending
on your preference. The game may run slower in windowed mode,
especially if you are running your desktop at 32-bit color instead
of 16 bit.

From the Options screen you can also access High Scores screen and
toggle Twisted Mode and Diversity Mode.

3.5 GAME MODES

You can play the game with Twisted and/or Diversity Mode in effect.
Toggle modes by clicking the appropriate button on Options Screen.

3.5.1 TWISTED MODE

In Twisted mode, game surface is rotating during the game.

3.5.2 DIVERSITY MODE

In Diversity Mode game surface changes with advancing to
the next level.

3.6 SCORING

The game awards points for blocks you clear and offers more if you hit
large clusters. In fact, you will get fewer points for clearing
the cluster with a help of a bomb than for eliminating the same amount
of blocks by a simple hit.

You can bring the next line up at once by hitting 'U' or 'End' keys.
Not only will you speed up your advancement to the next level, but also
you will get a hefty bonus for every such line.

3.7 USING MUSIC FILES

You can use MP3 and/or MID files of your choice as a soundtrack
for the game.

To accomplish that all you have to do is put your MP3 and/or MID
files into subdirectory named MIDIDATA in the directory where you
installed 3D SurfBlocks and then start the program.
